About New Dawn Homecare
In 1988, New Dawn Homecare was the first private (not publically-funded) homecare agency formed on Cape Breton Island. More than thirty years later, we are the largest and oldest private, Cape-Breton based Homecare company on the Island. We are also the only accredited Homecare company on the Island.
As a member of the non-profit New Dawn Enterprises family, all profits generated are reinvested back into our community to support programs such as the New Dawn Meals on Wheels program which delivers over 20,000 meals annually to seniors, convalescents and recently hospitalized. By using the services of New Dawn Homecare, you are indirectly supporting organizations like Meals on Wheels – for that, we thank you!
About New Dawn Enterprises
New Dawn’s mission is to engage the community to create and support a culture of self-reliance. Its other work also includes: providing affordable housing (New Dawn Properties), providing affordable spaces for artists (Eltuek Arts Centre), supporting newcomers to our community to build their new lives here (Cape Breton Island Centre for Immigration), providing safe and empowering care for adults with physical and intellectual disabilities (New Dawn Guest Home and New Dawn Home Living), providing nutrition classes and healthy food access (New Dawn Community Kitchen and the Good Food Bus).
